Wash Formula Recipes

Define per-service chemical consumption recipes so every order deducts the right amount of detergent, softener, and supplies automatically.

Why it matters

Manual chemical tracking leads to overstocking or stockouts. Recipes ensure your inventory stays accurate without staff doing mental math.

What it can do

Recipe authoring

  • Define chemical consumption per service: detergent (ml/kg), fabric conditioner, bleach (with enable/disable toggle), dryer sheets, bags, and labels per order
  • Set the default cycle type per service: Regular, Heavy, or Delicate
  • Cycle intensity multipliers scale deductions automatically — Regular 1.0×, Heavy 1.4×, Delicate 0.8×
  • Recipe stored as a consumptionProfile on the service pricing document — always synchronized with pricing
  • Inventory item mapping per recipe input — each chemical and supply links to a tracked inventory SKU

Deduction triggers

  • Detergent, fabric conditioner, and bleach deducted at Sorting → Washing transition
  • Dryer sheets deducted at Washing → Drying transition
  • Bags and labels deducted at Packaging stage
  • Deduction quantity = recipe value × load weight (kg) × intensity multiplier
  • Falls back to tenant-level defaults when a service has no recipe assigned

Real-world scenarios

Heavy-duty cycle uses more detergent

You set the Heavy intensity multiplier to 1.4×. When a Heavy cycle runs, the system deducts 40% more detergent automatically — without staff doing any calculation.

Tracking bleach-only services

For whitening services, you enable the bleach toggle on the recipe and set the ml/kg amount. Only orders using that service trigger bleach deductions.

Frequently asked questions

What if a service has no recipe?
The system falls back to your tenant-level inventory defaults — a baseline detergent amount per kg. You can update defaults in the inventory config at any time.
Can I have different recipes per branch?
Recipes are set at the service level, which is shared across branches. Branch-level recipe overrides are on the roadmap.
